EASIER, SAFER LOADING & HAULING WITH THE SUB

HAUL MORE

Packed with performance features, the Comtruk© SUB© fitted to a ute or chassis cab cutaway can haul heavy loads, while staying nimble to navigate urban centers and parking lots.

Drop-sides allow for loading and unloading of freight from the curb side. The sides easily open by lifting lever handles at each end, and they can be removed in seconds to convert to a flatbed, accommodating larger cargo. Additionally, the drop-sides can be lowered to 90⁰ or 180⁰. When locked in at 90⁰, to the bed doubles as a mobile work center. Just bolt on a saw and get to work.

Comtruk offers more usable space than a rigid pickup bed and more flexibility than the typical flatbed. Get complete control over how and where to strap down a load with heavy duty t-slots and uni-strut channels in the top side and underside of the bed floor, inside each of the four sides, and the inside and outside of the rack bars.

The channels make it easy to customise the SUB for all sorts of businesses, because they accept most brands of accessories. Configure the SUB to carry ladders, water tanks, timber, tools, and so much more.

The front end of the SUB features an alloy rack bar that extends above the cabin roof, suitable to sit loads against or to tie loads on top. Like the SUB itself, the rack bar features uni-strut channels along the inside and outside of the rack bar that allow you to customise the location of eye-bolts or other load management fixings.

PROVEN STRONG

Tested on the road and on the work site, the SUB has what it takes to get the job done.

Constructed from 6000 series aluminium alloy extrusions, durable aluminium die cast, and automotive grade plastic moldings, the SUB is strong and durable, yet light in weight, and resistant to corrosion.

In independent, third-party testing, the SUB performed beautifully during accelerated tests simulating 2,000 kms of extreme off-road conditions and 95,000 kms of normal driving conditions.

Testing of performance features completed by Comtruk’s engineering team includes strapping 500 kg of concrete brick load in the SUB for about 12 weeks while it was driven approximately 8,000 kms over generally B-grade and unsealed roads. Through it all, the SUB showed little-to-no signs of obvious wear, just general rub marks from a timber pallet sitting on the alloy deck.

FOCUS ON SAFETY

Reduce the risk of loading-related injuries, or scrapes and cuts with the SUB’s smart, people-friendly features. Easier access to the bed, plus integrated steps and handles, means easier loading and load securing.

Repeatable loading/unloading processes with the SUB are perfect for documented Standard Operating Procedures.

The SUB replaces sharp corners and edges with smooth, contoured lines. Side and tailgates fold down to 90 or 180 degrees, giving better access to the bed floor for safer loading and unloading. Rubber floor strips reduce sliding, regardless of cargo size or shape.

Making access on top of the bed easy, the SUB features a fold-out side step attached to the inside of the drop side gate, which, when unfolded with the gate down, provides a mid-height step up to the bed floor. Railings along the side skirts of the bed also provide a foot hold when the gates are up to help access tall loads or items racked above the cabin roof.

Performance features include optional rear sensors and reverse cameras, and our side-pivot lifter, give an even higher level of safety. The front rack’s inside channel can hold stainless steel mesh, creating a safety barrier for the driver.

PROMOTE YOUR BRAND

Commercial utes need to work hard, but they also need to promote a company’s brand. With aerodynamic lines, the Comtruk SUB accepts vinyl wraps and signage, and can do some heavy lifting company promotion.

The SUB features integrated tail lamps, neatly styled within the rear end panel, and reversing and turn signal lamps that comply with regulations. The central license plate surround has built-in illumination and accepts wiring for reversing cameras and reverse parking sensors. Plastic wheel arch moldings cover the dual rear wheels, containing water spray from tires. Light and tough, the wheel arches further integrate the SUB with the ute’s design.

The Comtruk SUB comes in durable hammertone powder coat finishes that are last and great looking, framed by low gloss textured black plastics. The inside floor is raw aluminium.
